Cutting Edge Technology for Early Disease DetectionThermal Imaging or Thermography is a safe, non-invasive, diagnostic imaging test that is intended for prevention and early disease detection. It is primarily used for, and visually shows where inflammation is located, which is the precursor to many diseases. By measuring the temperature and heat differences of your skin, this screening method is used to see changes in the thermal activity in the body to recognize possible health concerns. This is especially helpful as it can alert and help your doctor identify changes that could indicate disorders.
For some time, inflammation was not known to be the culprit responsible for many diseases. Now, numerous physicians recognize that inflammation is a precursor to health issues. Early detection may help you prevent harmful health problems such as, cancer, heart disease, stroke, and high blood pressure. As people begin to learn and become aware of thermal imaging, and just how useful it can be, they soon realize its true benefits.
Is it Accurate?
Yes, thermal imaging is 97% accurate at detecting abnormalities. This preventative technology informs you of physiological changes and differences in your body so you can make lifestyle changes that may improve your health before disease develops. Thermography can also buy you time and help you consider better treatment options if disease is detected. It is important to recognize that early detection is the key to a good outcome.
Thermography vs. Mammography
Thermography is recognized as one of the safest and earliest methods of screening for annual, routine breast health exams. FDA approved in 1982, thermography has no side affects. When monitoring temperature and vascular changes, thermography can identify cancer cells 8 - 10 years prior to mammograms or conventional methods. With this safe, comfortable, and painless screening procedure, thermography is beneficial to women of all age groups. This is especially good news for younger women as they have dense breasts and detection of diseases is more difficult. This is done in a matter of minutes with NO radiation, NO body contact, and NO compression.
For years, women have been conditioned to accept mammograms as part of their health care program. And for years, mammograms have shown ineffective as a screening tool for early detection of breast cancer, and recent studies have shown that it is a poor preventative tool. One other very important fact that we don't often hear about is the exposure to the X-rays used in mammography. Due to the effects of radiation from mammograms, it has been estimated that up to 20% of all breast cancers diagnosed in the United States annually are actually caused by the accumulation of radiation, which makes the recommendation for annual or semi-annual mammogram ridiculous. Consider this, if you don't have breast cancer when you start screening with mammograms, you probably will years later after all the radiation exposure has accumulated. Another fact, every time a woman has a mammogram, it increases her chances 5% of getting breast cancer and can be 1,000 times greater than that of a chest X-ray. Another key problem with mammograms is the compression aspect. Not only is this painful, but can also rupture any existing malignant cells spreading it throughout the body. Cancer Prevention Coalition. There is no solid evidence that mammograms save lives. In fact, research shows that adding an annual mammogram to a careful physical examination of the breasts does not improve breast cancer survival rates.
One More Thing...
Mammography is NOT capable of detecting breast cancer early enough when it can be easily treated. Generally, a tumor is first detected by a mammogram when it is about 2.5 cm (the size of a dime) At this stage, it has been growing for at least 8 years.
"Mammography's so-called low-dose radiation may increase the risk of breast cancer".
